Parliament’s Presidency sends best wishes for Nawroz Kurdish New Year

Kurdistan Parliament’s Presidency on 21 March gave their best wishes for Nawroz, the Kurdish New Year on the Spring Equinox, to people in all parts of Kurdistan and living abroad.

The Speaker Dr. Rewas Faiq wrote that the Kurdish New Year coincides with the 29th anniversary of the liberation of Kirkuk, which was the zenith of the 1991 Uprising.

Deputy Speaker Hemin Hawrami sent best wishes for the Nawroz New Year 2720 to Kurds everywhere. At this time, he wrote, the people of Kirkuk are once again suffering Arabization and authoritarian rule 29 years after the uprising in Kirkuk in 1991, and have shown enormous patience and fortitude in the face of these injustices.

Parliament Secretary Muna Kahveci convey her best wishes for Nawroz particularly to the Peshmerga forces and to the families of martyrs.

Parliament’s Presidency asked the people of Kurdistan to celebrate Nawroz at home with their household to comply with the lockdown measures to contain the Coronavirus outbreak.
