Parliament Speaker Rewas Faiq and Women’s Rights Committee convey condolences on passing of Mahabad Qaradaghi
Kurdistan Parliament Speaker Dr. Rewas Faiq and the Protection of Women’s Rights Committee on 9 October expressed their condolences on passing of Mahabad Qaradaghi, a Kurdish women’s rights activist, poet and author, in the following messages:
I was sad to receive the news of the passing of the renowned Kurdish writer and activist, Mahabad Qaradaghi. On this sad occasion, I express my condolences to her family, relatives and intellectuals of Kurdistan. God rest her soul.

We were saddened to learn of the passing of Mahabad Qaradaghi, a courageous and intellectual woman who advocated for women's rights and gender equality. As a strong, patriotic writer, she devoted more than half of her life to achieving the legitimate rights and aims of women in Kurdistan. Her death is a great loss and her works will remain essential in the field of women’s rights, gender equality, and Kurdish literature.
