Committees’ recent meetings - 14 September 2020

A summary of Kurdistan Parliament committees’ recent meetings and activities. 

Health, Environment and Consumer Rights Committee and Legislative Committee

13 September - Parliament's Health, Environment and Consumer Rights Committee and the Legislative Committee held a joint meeting to discuss and prepare the latest report on the Bill on Patients' Rights and Responsibilities.

The two committees reviewed all the comments and suggestions that MPs made at the Bill's second reading in the chamber which took place on 2nd and 8th September, and prepared the final report on the Bill which will have its third reading and vote on 15th September.

Committee on Kurdistani Areas outside KRG Administrative Area 

14 September - The committee, led by the chair Jiwan Rojbayani (KDP) we’re briefed by Deputy Governor of Mosul Sirwan Rozhbayani about the situation facing civilians in the Nineveh plains and Shengal district.  

Ms. Rojbayani briefed Mosul’s Deputy Governor and his delegation on the committees’ responsibilities and activities. The mayor of Shengal gave the MPs detailed data and information on the district.  

All agreed on the need for more meetings and coordination.
