Order of business for 8 September 2020: reading of bills, review of anti-narcotics law, new MP swearing in
The Presidency of the Kurdistan Parliament announces the order of business for the sitting of Tuesday 8th September 2020 – the third ordinary sitting of the autumn session of the second year of the Kurdistan Parliament’s fifth term:
- Continuation of the second reading of the Bill on Patients’ Rights and Responsibilities in Kurdistan Region, per articles 87, 88 and 89 of Parliament’s Internal Rules of Procedure.
- Debate and vote on reviewing several articles and paragraphs of the Law on Combating Narcotics and the Dealers and Users of Narcotics in the Kurdistan Region – Iraq (Law no 1, 2020) in both Kurdish and Arabic, which was returned to Parliament by the President of Kurdistan Region through Decision No. 4 of 2020 and per Article 95, paragraph 1, of Parliament’s Internal Rules of Procedure.
- Second reading of the Bill on Government Employees in Kurdistan Region – Iraq, per articles 87, 88 and 89 of Parliament’s Internal Rules of Procedure.
- Omar Abdullah Fattah Mohammad will be sworn in as a new MP, taking the place of Soran Omar Said (Kurdistan Islamic Group), per Article 27 of the Internal Rules of Procedure.
The Presidency of the Kurdistan Parliament decides and announces the order of business of this sitting according to Parliament’s Internal Rules of Procedure, Article 5, Article 16 (paragraphs 1, 2), Article 18 (paragraph 3), Article 20 (paragraphs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5), and articles 47, 48, 52, 54, 55, 56 and 57.
