Parliament’s Endowments & Religious Affairs Committee congratulates Kurdistan Islamic Scholars Union on 50th anniversary

Kurdistan Parliament’s Endowment and Religious Affairs Committee on 20 September sent the following congratulatory message to the Executive Council of the Kurdistan Islamic Scholars Union on their Golden Jubilee:

On the occasion of the Golden Jubilee of the founding of the Kurdistan Islamic Scholars Union, we congratulate all Islamic scholars in Kurdistan.

The founding of the Islamic Scholars Union on 21 September 1970 to supervise religious studies and organize the affairs of Islamic scholars was essential. It was an important historic event.

The Union had a prominent role in the different stages of our nation's liberation, defending religious and national sanctities and protecting society’s peaceful coexistence.

We take this opportunity to reaffirm greater cooperation between our committee and all of Kurdistan’s regional religious institutions.
