Speaker Rewas Faiq meets with Korea's Consul General Choi Kwang-Jin
Kurdistan Parliament Speaker Dr. Rewas Faiq on 23 September welcomed South Korea’s Consul General to Kurdistan, Mr. Choi Kwang-Jin.
Speaker Faiq and Consul General Choi discussed their nations’ friendship and co-operation over several years. They also discussed increased risks from the Coronavirus in the coming season.
Speaker Faiq thanked the Republic of Korea for their support to Kurdistan Region, which began in 2004 when Korea dispatched the Zaytun Division forces for four years. The Zaytun Division forces helped in reconstruction and local skills development.
Mr. Choi briefed Speaker Faiq about the Korean Consulate General’s plans for socially distanced national day celebrations and an online cultural festival.
Consul General Choi also underlined the desire to continue close relations between the two nations, and hoped that South Korea can continue to provide equipment and kits to assist the Kurdistan Region in the Coronavirus pandemic.
