Parliament holds workshop on budget preparation, implementation and monitoring
Parliament's Research Centre on 19 April, together with the National Democratic Institute and the financial adviser of the Iraqi Council of Representatives, held a workshop on 'The general budget's preparation, implementation and supervision by Parliament' for members and advisers of several Parliament committees.
On the first day of the workshop, the principles of the public budget, the basics and the mechanics of budgeting, expenditure methods and public income were presented to the participants.
It was decided that in the next two days Parliament's Finance Committee and the Financial Audit Board will issue reports so that when the budget bill comes to Parliament, MPs can have informed discussions on it.
