Parliament’s Presidency convey condolences on passing of national poet Ahmed Dilzar

Dear family and loved ones of Ahmed Dilzar, dear Kurdish Writers Union, intellectuals and poets of Kurdistan,

We are saddened to learn of the passing of the great poet Ahmed Dilzar, a true progressive and a patriotic bard of our nation who devoted his life to the struggle for freedom and Kurdish identity, and to Kurdish literature and culture. With his passing, we have lost a shining light of Kurdish literature and poetry.

On this sad occasion, we express our condolences to Ahmed Dilzar’s family, to the Kurdish Writers Union and to all writers, intellectuals and poets of Kurdistan. We pray that God gives his loved ones strength and patience in their grief. May his soul rest in peace.
