Speaker Rewaz Faiq: "Kurdistan Region's victims of terrorist acts and war should be compensated under Iraq's Law No. 20 of 2009"

Kurdistan Parliament Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq welcomed Dr. Basma Muhammad Mustafa, Commissioner of the Iraqi High Commission for Human Rights.

Speaker Faiq and Dr. Basma Muhammad discussed Iraq’s Law No. 20 of 2009 on Compensating People Affected by War Operations, Military Mistakes and Terrorist Actions.

The Speaker of Parliament said that Kurdistan Region has lost many lives because of acts of terrorism and the war against terror, and the victims have suffered material and psychological damage from military attacks and war.

She called on the Iraqi government and the relevant authorities to compensate the victims under the provisions of Law No. 20 of 2009.
