Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq congratulates Kurdistan Democratic Party on 75th anniversary

Dear Mr. Masoud Barzani, dear members of the political bureau and the leadership council of the Kurdistan Democratic Party,

I extend my best wishes to you and your members and supporters on the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Kurdistan Democratic Party. I wish you success in your political efforts to achieve our nation’s patriotic goals and to fulfill all the needs and demands of the people of Kurdistan.

Gentlemen,

As you know, our region is currently facing many major political, security, economic, social and health issues, all of which demand that we put aside political conflicts, party interests and other such disagreements. We need to a create common understanding that will act as the basis for uniting our national networks around the protection of the sovereignty and the greater interests of our nation, and the preservation of Kurdistan’s constitutional status, so that we can work towards the goal of fulfilling the needs and demands of the people of Kurdistan at all levels and in different areas.

To achieve these goals, I hope that the Kurdistan Democratic Party, with the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan and the other parties and with those in positions of responsibility in Kurdistan, will fulfill your duty to eliminate the threats to our Region and draft a Kurdistan Constitution that has the support of the people and that conforms with the new domestic, Iraqi and regional situation. In the Constitution drafting process, the focus must be on compromise and mutual understanding to ensure the rights and freedoms of the citizens of Kurdistan.
