Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq welcomes Iraqi community leaders

Kurdistan Parliament Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq on 23 August welcomed the Kurdistan Region branch of the leadership council and prominent individuals.

On the long-standing relationship between the Kurdish people and many Iraqis of different religious, ethnic and ideological backgrounds, Speaker Faiq said, “The Kurds as always believe in maintaining our brotherhood with all Iraqis and have tried hard to prevent political disagreements from harming these ties, which we think are very strong, and it is everyone’s responsibility to confront the challenges facing the Iraqi people and their fate."

The Speaker also referred to the great responsibility of community representatives and leaders, including tribal sheikhs, school and university teachers, Islamic, Christian and other religions’ clerics. Dr. Faiq said, "The constitutional and moral responsibility that falls on everyone’s shoulders is a very big one. This status also gives us security, it has to be protected. We value all the efforts made by honest people."

The guests thanked Speaker Faiq for welcoming them and appreciated her views.
