Speaker Rewaz Faiq chairs meeting of Parliament's Commerce Committee with Ministry of Trade and Industry
Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq on 8 August chaired a meeting of Parliament’s Commerce and Industry Committee with the KRG Minister for Commerce and Industry Kamal Muslim and ministry officials, to discuss the Bill on Second Amendments to the Law on Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Law No. 14 of 1993) in the Kurdistan Region.
Dr. Vala Fareed, the KRG Minister for the Region for Parliament Affairs, also participated in the meeting.
At the meeting were Ali Hama Salih (Change), the chair of Parliament’s Energy, Natural Resources, Commerce and Industry Committee; committee members and advisers; Dr. Vala Fareed, the KRG Minister for the Region for Parliament Affairs; Trade and Industry Ministry administrators Sarwar Kamal Hawari and Ali Osman; and Blnd Mohammed the Ministry’s director general for company registration.
Speaker Faiq said that it is important for Parliament’s committees to study bills and prepare reports on them so that they can be put through the legislative process when the autumn session begins.
Minister Kamal Muslim gave an overview of the current method and system of company registration and the proposed second amendments to the Law on Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Law No. 14 of 1993), which would change the system.
The committee chair Ali Hama Salih (Change) and members asked the ministry officials many questions.
Speaker Faiq asked the committee to undertake a detailed and thorough study of the bill, to ensure that none of its provisions conflict with the Constitution.
