Parliament's Presidency conveys condolences on passing of former Parliament Speaker Dr. Rozh Nuri Shawes

Dear President Masoud Barzani, members of the Political Bureau and Leadership of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, family and relatives of the late Dr. Rozh Nuri Shawes,

We are very saddened to learn of the passing of Dr. Rozh Nuri Shawes, the veteran Peshmerga, member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party political bureau, and former speaker of the Kurdistan Parliament.

Dr. Rozh was an experienced politician and skilled Peshmerga, serving the people of Kurdistan and helping to build the foundations of our Parliament. He had a significant role in Kurdistan’s liberation movement and he served his country over decades in his political and executive positions in Kurdistan Region and in the Iraqi government. His place cannot be easily filled.

On this sad occasion, we express our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Dr. Rozh, we pray that God give them comfort in their grief and that his soul rests in peace.
