Speaker Rewaz Faiq meets with families hit by border area military attacks

Kurdistan Parliament Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq on 8 February met with the families of those killed in the Balakayati area by aerial bombings and shelling of the borders by Turkey and Iran.

In the meeting attended by several Members of Parliament, the families of the victims gave a letter to the Speaker demanding that the aerial attacks and shelling of their areas by Turkey and Iran be halted immediately. They also demanded compensation for their material losses and that the victims be registered as martyrs.

Speaker Faiq supported their demands and said that residents of the border areas must be allowed to live in safety and security. She pledged to make every effort to have their demands met by the relevant authorities.
