Speaker Faiq: "The Kurdish movement's important achievements stem from the Peshmerga veterans' era of struggle and resistance"
Kurdistan Parliament Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq on 24 January welcomed the head of the Council of Peshmerga Veterans of Kurdistan, Jamil Hawrami, and several members of the council.
Speaker Faiq commended the bravery and struggle of the veteran Peshmerga and said, "All of the important achievements of the Kurdish movement stem from the era of struggle and resistance, in which the veteran Peshmerga played a vital role.”
Dr. Faiq added that the Kurdistan Parliament makes every effort to guarantee their rights and privileges.
The Council’s Head Jamil Hawrami described the problems that veterans have experienced in recent years. He presented to Speaker Faiq a proposal for legislation on the rights and privileges of Peshmerga veterans and asked that it be put on Parliament’s agenda for reading at a sitting.
Dlawar Omar, the Head of Gulan Peshmerga Veterans organization, also explained the problems that they face and their needs.
Speaker Faiq and Members of Parliament’s Peshmerga Committee who attended the meeting reaffirmed their support for veterans’ demands.
