Deputy Speaker Hawrami and standing committee MPs meet with KRG Ministry of Trade and Industry

Kurdistan Parliament Deputy Speaker Hemin Hawrami and MPs on 28 February met with the Kurdistan Regional Government Minister for Trade and Industry Kamal Muslim and his staff.

Dr. Hawrami and MPs of Parliament's standing Committee on Energy, Natural Resources, Commerce and Industry went to the ministry for the meeting.

The Deputy Speaker thanked the Ministry for cooperating with Parliament's committees in the past and asked about its implementation of the KRG ninth cabinet's manifesto and of the Reform Law; what steps it is taking to decentralise authority, reduce bureaucracy, reorganize income and expenditure; and about the ministry's strategic plans on trade and increasing domestic production.

He also asked what the Ministry is doing to support domestic products, protect consumer rights and encourage commercial banks to help businesses and industry.

Members of Parliament's standing committee, Minister Kamal Muslim and the Ministry staff had a lengthy discussion on many areas related to trade and industry.

The meeting at the ministry is part of a series of visits led by Deputy Speaker Hawrami, during Parliament's winter recess, to scrutinize the work of the Government.
