Deputy Speaker Hawrami welcomes Ukraine's Consul General in Baghdad

Kurdistan Parliament Deputy Speaker Dr. Hemin Hawrami on 23 May welcomed Mr. Ivan Honcharenko, Ukraine's Consul General in Baghdad. They discussed Kurdistan and Ukraine's historic relations and establishing ties between their respective parliaments.

Deputy Speaker Hawrami appreciated the historic ties between Kurdistan and Ukraine, particularly in higher education, and Ukraine's experience in different sectors and of democratization.

Dr. Hawrami said, "We commend the resilience of the Ukrainian people in overcoming great difficulties."

He added, "We are a relatively young parliament, and we hope to build ties with the Ukrainian Parliament."

Consul General Honcharenko said that he was very pleased to see Kurdistan Region's development and progress, and commended the courage of the Kurdistani people throughout history.
