MPs and KRG ministries discuss legislative proposal on Management and Protection of Water Resources

Kurdistan Parliament Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq on 25 November 2021 chaired a meeting on the legislative proposal on Management and Protection of Water Resources, with the relevant Parliament committees, KRG Municipalities Minister Sasan Awni and Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources Karim Suleiman.

MPs from Parliament’s Agriculture and Irrigation Committee and Municipalities Committee and the KRG Minister for the Region for Parliament Affairs Dr. Vala Fareed were at the meeting.

After in-depth discussions, the participants decided to create a high committee to review and organize the legislative proposal. The high committee will comprise the chairs of Parliament’s Legislative, Municipalities and Agriculture committees and director generals from both the Agriculture and Irrigation and Municipalities ministries.

Speaker Faiq asked the ad hoc committee to complete their work within two weeks, so that the legislative proposal can be scheduled for reading at a sitting as soon as possible.
