Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq conveys best wishes on Turkmen Language and Culture Day

On Turkmen Language and Culture Day, I convey my heartfelt congratulations to our Turkmen brothers and sisters in the Kurdistan Region. On this happy occasion, I hope that the spirit of unity and togetherness between all the communities of Kurdistan Region and Iraq grows stronger, that the prospect of a democratic life prevails over the prospect of ethnic and religious discrimination, and that it becomes self-evident to all that ensuring cultural and linguistic rights is a foundation of our nation’s peace and stability.

I hope that our multi-culturalism strengthens the pillars of democracy and peaceful coexistence of our nation, that the practice of usurping and removing components’ rights is completely uprooted, that we never forget how in the era of dictatorship the people of Kurdistan and Iraq for decades suffered ethnic and religious discrimination and the denial of their rights.
