Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq meets with Director of Sulaymaniyah International Book Fair

Kurdistan Parliament Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq on 8 November 2021 met with Mr. Hassan Rahim Ahmad, Director of the Sulaymaniyah International Book Fair, which will take place this month.

Speaker Faiq and Mr. Ahmad discussed books, writing and culture and the current state of authorship and readership, and print publishing’s challenges in the face of electronic and social media.

Speaker Faiq congratulated and expressed her support for the Sulaymaniyah International Book Fair and wished them success, and said she hopes that it will become part of the annual programme of cultural activities as part of Slemani city’s official designation as the city of culture.

The Speaker also thanked the the Ministry of Culture, the Governor of Slemani and academic and cultural centres. She hoped the book fair will encourage more reading and authorship.

Mr. Ahmad thanked Speaker Faiq for warmly welcoming him and for supporting the Sulaymaniyah International Book Fair.
