Parliament holds second reading of amendments to application of Iraq Trade Law, Bill on Production and Import of Seeds & Plants

The Kurdistan Parliament on 27 October 2021 held the second readings of amendments to the application of Iraq Trade Law No. 30 of 1984, and the Bill on Production and Import of Seeds and Plants and Registration, Approval, and Protection of Agricultural Chemicals.

Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq opened the sitting, with Deputy Speaker Dr. Hemin Hawrami and Secretary Muna Kahveci alongside her.

For the Bill on Production and Import of Seeds and Plants and Registration, Approval, and Protection of Agricultural Chemicals in Kurdistan Region – Iraq, the Agriculture and Irrigation Committee and the Legislative Committee read it in full. Mrs. Begard Talabani, the KRG Minister for Agriculture and Water Resources, and other ministry officials were present and explained the bill. MPs made their comments and suggestions on all parts of the bill.

Parliament’s Commerce and Industry Committee and Legislative Committee read the proposed Amendments to the Application of Iraq Trade Law No. 30 of 1984 in Kurdistan Region – Iraq, and MPs made their comments and suggestions on all the articles and details of the amendments.

This was the fifth ordinary sitting of the autumn session of the third year of the fifth term of Parliament.
