Relations & Kurdish Diaspora Committee meet with Belgium’s House of Representatives’ Foreign Affairs Committee

Kurdistan Parliament’s Relations and Kurdish Diaspora Committee on 12 October met with Belgium’s House of Representatives’ Foreign Affairs Committee to thank them for spearheading the Belgian Parliament’s recognition of the genocide against the Yazidis.

The committee chair Dr. Rebwar Babkayi thanked the Belgian Parliament Committee for their successful efforts, particularly those of MP Mr. Georges Dallemagne who tabled the resolution to recognize the Yazidi genocide.

The two committees also discussed strengthening relations between their respective parliaments, by forming a coordination group.

The Belgian House of Representatives’ Foreign Affairs Committee expressed their pleasure at their visit to the Kurdistan Parliament and agreed to strengthen bilateral relations.

The two committees held a joint press conference after their meeting.
