Deputy Speaker Hemin Hawrami meets India's new envoy to Iraq Ambassador Prashant Pise
Kurdistan Parliament Deputy Speaker Dr. Hemin Hawrami on 19 September welcomed Ambassador Prashant Pise, India's new Ambassador to Iraq. They discussed strengthening inter-parliamentary relations and the current political, security and health situation in Kurdistan Region and Iraq.
Deputy Speaker Hawrami congratulated Ambassador Pise on his new posting. They agreed on sharing expertise and experience and building friendships between MPs of the Kurdistan Parliament and India's Parliament.
They also highlighted their mutual desire to increase commercial, academic and health ties between the two nations.
Dr. Hawrami and Ambassador Pise, who was accompanied by the Consul General in Kurdistan Region Mr. Subhash C. Kain, reflected on the challenge that the Coronavirus pandemic has created for the world and the importance of vaccination.
The Deputy Speaker gave India's new ambassador an overview of Kurdistan Parliament's current legislative priorities, the imminent Iraqi election, and the current political, security, economic and health situation in Kurdistan Region and Iraq.
