Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq welcomes Germany’s Consul General Klemens Semtner

Kurdistan Parliament Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq on 13 April 2022 welcomed Germany’s Consul General Mr. Klemens Semtner.

Speaker Faiq and Consul General Semtner discussed the latest political developments in Kurdistan Region and Iraq.

The Parliament Speaker explained the challenges and obstacles to the political process in Kurdistan Region and her foresight on the current situation.

Speaker Faiq said, “I firmly believe that there should be an agreement between the political parties. The election is an important and sensitive issue, it has bearing on Kurdistan Region’s future political map, and the process needs trust to be built between the political parties. With this in mind, it is my responsibility to be a factor for bringing the political sides closer together and for protecting Kurdistan Region’s stability.”

Consul General Semtner thanked Speaker Faiq for the meeting and for sharing her views.
