Deputy Speaker Dr. Hemin Hawrami welcomes Mr. David Caudill, new Chief of US Consulate General's Political and Economic Section

Kurdistan Parliament Deputy Speaker Dr. Hemin Hawrami on 1st August 2022 welcomed Mr. David Caudill, the new Chief of the Political and Economic Section of the US Consulate General in Erbil.

Mr. Caudill was accompanied by Mr. Joshua A. Lewis, the Political Economic Officer, and other staff.

Deputy Speaker Hawrami and Mr. Caudill discussed the political, economic and security situation in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, and the talks over the next Kurdistan Parliament election.

Dr. Hawrami and Mr. Caudill agreed on the importance of the enduring friendship between the Kurdistan Region and the US.

The Deputy Speaker gave an overview of Parliament’s short-term legislative agenda, with some important bills and proposals coming up for readings.

Mr. Caudill commended the Kurdistan Parliament for its current work on amending the anti-domestic violence law. He also commended the Kurdistan Region for its stability, progress, and development.
