Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq chairs meeting on amending Application of the Law on Administration of Endowments

Kurdistan Parliament Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq on 9 August 2022 supervised a meeting on the Bill on Amendments to the Application of the amended Law on the Administration of Endowments (Law No. 64 of 1966) in Kurdistan Region.

Parliament’s Committee on Endowments and Religious Affairs expressed their views on the articles that need to be reviewed, taking into account the notes and comments of the Kurdistan Region Fatwa High Council.

Speaker Faiq said, "This bill has legal and Sharia dimensions and it needs more time for consultations with the Ministry Endowments and Religious Affairs, the Fatwa High Council, the High Committee of Fatwa, the Kurdistan Islamic Scholars Union and other relevant parties. I hope that the latest draft will be acceptable to and agreed on by all sides.”
