Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq chairs meeting on draft legislative proposal to amend the Implementation Law (Law No. 40 of 1980)

Kurdistan Parliament Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq on 11 August 2022 chaired a consultative meeting to prepare the draft of the legislative proposal for the amendment of the Implementation Law (Law No. 40 of 1980).

The KRG Deputy Minister of Justice Shilan Arif Hama, judges, the public prosecution, advisors, judicial executives, experts and academics attended the meeting.

They discussed and expressed their views on the details of the draft amendments to the law, which sets out how court judgments and orders should be put into force and implemented.

Speaker Faiq said, "The Implementation Law, Law No. 40 of 1980, is important for the Kurdistan Region, it concerns the implementation of court rulings and people's rights. As a valuable law that applies to personal rights in Kurdistan Region, it should fully serve citizens. That’s why the Kurdistan Parliament has been in consultation with relevant parties for a year and a half to amend the law appropriately, so that it is suitable for this era and fulfills courts’ legislation and enforcement needs."
