Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq congratulates Bafel Jalal Talabani on his election as Leader of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK)

Dear Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan,

Please accept my very best wishes on your election as leader of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK). I wish you every success.

It is a great responsibility to be entrusted with the confidence of the PUK Leadership Council to take on this considerable task, to continue the noble legacy of the PUK, of our martyrs’ sacrifices and of President Mam Jalal Talabani’s moderate politics, at this difficult stage and in the midst of tensions in Kurdistan Region, Iraq and the wider region.

I hope that the right decisions and position will be taken, together with the other political forces in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, and that you will have an effective role in restoring peace and stability in Iraq and maintaining political peace in the Kurdistan Region, with the aim of guaranteeing all public rights and freedoms, serving citizens and responding to their legitimate demands.
