Diwan of Kurdistan Parliament issues clarification regarding speculation about resignation of MPs

There have been rumours and speculation that several members of the Kurdistan Parliament have secretly submitted their resignations to Parliament’s Presidency and to the head of the Diwan (Parliament’s administration).

We clarify that as of 4 December 2022, apart from the MPs from the Kurdistan Islamic Union block, no other members of the other parliamentary parties have officially submitted their resignation.

Note: MP Shayan Kaka Salih Muhammad (Gorran) resigned her seat. Her resignation was approved by the vote of MPs at the Parliament sitting of 16 November 2022.
