Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq welcomes Germany’s new Consul General Mr. Klaus Streicher

Kurdistan Parliament Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq on 14 December 2022 welcomed Germany’s new Consul General in Kurdistan Region, Mr. Klaus Streicher.

Speaker Faiq congratulated Mr. Streicher on his new posting and looked forward to continued cooperation with Germany and developing their two nations’ historic friendship.

They discussed the current political, economic and social situation in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, and both stressed the need for solidarity and unity among the political parties as the best way to protect the best interests of the Kurdish people.

Dr. Faiq said, “The Kurdistan Parliament has passed many important and strong laws. Several bills have had their first or second readings and should be passed into law in the upcoming sittings of Parliament.”

Consul General Streicher thanked Speaker Faiq for the warm welcome and expressed his views on the issues discussed.
