Parliament remembers martyrs of 1st February 2004 twin terrorist attacks in Erbil

On 1st February 2022, Kurdistan Parliament's Presidency, led Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq, and several MPs took part in the remembrance ceremony for the martyrs killed in the twin terrorist attacks on the KDP and PUK offices in Erbil 18 years ago.

Speaker Faiq laid flowers at the memorial monument in Sami Abdul Rahman Park. Deputy Speaker Dr. Hemin Hawrami, Secretary Muna Kahveci and several MPs attended the ceremony, together with KRG Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, and representatives of the Kurdistan Region presidency, government, political parties, foreign consulates, religious leaders and the families of the martyred.

The twin terrorist attacks of 1st February 2004 were carried out by an Islamic terrorist group as the two parties gathered in their Erbil offices to celebrate the Muslim Eid Al-Adha (Jezni Qurban). Government officials, political leaders and party staff, veteran Peshmerga and children were killed.
