Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq chairs meeting to hear Veterinarians Syndicate's views on Law on Supervision of Agricultural Projects

Kurdistan Parliament Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq on 13 February 2022 chaired a meeting of the KRG Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources, Parliament's Legislative Committee, the Kurdistan Region Presidency's legal advisers and the Veterinarians Syndicate, to discuss the Law on Supervision of Agricultural Projects that was passed in December 2021.

Agriculture Minister Begard Talabani, Chair of the Legislative Committee Dr. Bizhar Kochar and the Kurdistan Region President’s legal team heard the views of the Veterinarians Syndicate on the Law on Supervision of Agricultural Projects, which was passed by Parliament on 21 December 2021.

Speaker Faiq said, "The Kurdistan Parliament and the Kurdistan Region Presidency agree that the law should not have a negative impact on food quality in the Kurdistan Region. The aim of the law is to find work for agriculture graduates, as one of policies on the KRG cabinet’s announced agenda is to create job opportunities for graduates of universities, institutes and vocational and academic colleges.

It was decided that the Ministry of Agriculture will issue guidelines on the law and will take the veterinarians syndicate’s comments and views into account in such a way that it is compatible with the purpose of the law.
