Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq gives talk to Duhok University sociology students

Kurdistan Parliament Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq on 7 February 2022 welcomed fourth year students and lecturers of Duhok University’s Sociology Department in the Faculty of Humanities.

Assistant professor Muhammad Saeed Hussein and Saman Omer Ahmad, the supervisors of Kurdistan Parliament’s scientific research, also participated in the meeting.

In her remarks, Speaker Faiq explained Parliament’s work and how its responsibilities are carried out, the relationship between citizens and their MPs, the Speaker’s duty to ensure that all parties are heard and have the opportunity to fully participate, and the conduct of Parliament sittings.

The Parliament Speaker said that public awareness of laws and legal issues is very important and stressed the important role of sociology graduates in spreading a culture of the rule of law and guiding communities.

Dr. Faiq said that she hopes sociology graduates will raise awareness and guide communities at all levels.

The Speaker answered the students’ questions about the work of parliament.
