Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq meets with Women in Leadership for Peace Group

Kurdistan Parliament Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq on 9 February 2022 met with members of the Women in Leadership for Peace Group, who proposed creating a legal minimum quota for women in government positions.

They discussed the role of women in the community, family, and work and the challenges that they face. They also discussed the Kurdistan election law and the seats reserved for women MPs. The Women in Leadership for Peace Group proposed creating a minimum quota for womein in government positions, just as there are already in parliament.

Speaker Faiq wished the group success in supporting women towards achieving their aims and taking the lead in combating injustice, and expressed her support for their demands.
