Deputy Speaker Dr. Hemin Hawrami welcomes members of the Yazidi Mir's Council

Kurdistan Parliament Deputy Speaker Dr. Hemin Hawrami on 11 January 2022 welcomed a delegation from the Council of the Yazidi Mir, the Yazidis' leader.

Deputy Speaker Hawrami emphasized the need to protect the rights of Yazidis. He said, "The Yazidi Kurds are an important community of Kurdistan, have lived in the blessed land of Kurdistan since ancient times, and have shared both the tragedies and joys of all Kurds."

Dr. Hawrami and the Yazidis talked discussed protecting the peaceful coexistence between all the religious and ethnic components in the Kurdistan Region.

The delegation said that the Yazidi Kurds should be given more positions and have a greater role in the Kurdistan Region’s institutions.
