Deputy Speaker Dr. Hemin Hawrami meets with Head of UNAMI Regional Office Mr. Ricardo Rodriguez

Kurdistan Parliament Deputy Speaker Dr. Hemin Hawrami on 3 July 2022 met with Mr. Ricardo Rodriguez, the Head of UNAMI's Regional Office in Erbil. They discussed the latest political, security and economic developments in Kurdistan Region and Iraq.

Parliament's recent legislation and amendments were also discussed, as well as the talks to reach an agreement on the next Kurdistan Parliament election.

Deputy Speaker Hawrami said that Parliament's sittings recess began on 1st July, but the work of Parliament's presidency and the committees' scrutiny and oversight of government continues during the recess.

Mr. Rodriguez said that within the framework and limits of UNAMI's mandate, UNAMI is ready to assist the authorities with discussions and preparations for the election.
