Deputy Speaker Dr. Hemin Hawrami welcomes new Head of Board for the Kurdistani Areas outside KRG Administrative Area Mr. Fahmi Burhan

Kurdistan Parliament Deputy Speaker Dr. Hemin Hawrami on 20 June 2022 met with the new Head of the Board for the Kurdistani Areas outside the KRG Administrative Area, Mr. Fahmi Burhan.

The Head of the KDP’s parliamentary block, Zana Mullah Khalid, was also in the meeting.

Deputy Speaker Hawrami congratulated Mr. Fahmi Burhan on his appointment. They discussed political developments in the Kurdistan Region, the obstacles to normalising the situation in the Kurdistani areas outside the Region's administration, and the problems and lack of security that the residents there continue to face.

Both sides stressed the importance of cooperation between the Board and the Parliament Committee on the Kurdistani Areas outside the KRG Administrative Area.

Deputy Speaker Hawrami explained Parliament’s work of monitoring, investigating and preventing forced demographic change of these areas and helping the IDPs to return to their homes.
