Deputy Speaker Dr. Hemin Hawrami welcomes Romania’s new Ambassador to Iraq

Kurdistan Parliament Deputy Speaker Dr. Hemin Hawrami on 8 June 2022 welcomed Romania’s new Ambassador to Iraq, Radu Octavian Dobre. They discussed developing ties in many areas, including parliamentary relations.

Deputy Speaker Hawrami congratulated Ambassador Dobre and welcomed him to his new posting. They discussed developing closer ties in many areas, including trade and investment, and in particular parliamentary ties.

Deputy Speaker Hawrami said, “The Kurdistan Parliament can benefit from the Romanian Parliament’s experience and exchange knowledge and expertise.”

Dr. Hawrami and Ambassador Dobre also discussed security and stability in Kurdistan Region and Iraq, the Iraqi government formation process, and the ongoing threat from ISIS.

The Ambassador was accompanied the Head of the Consular Office in Erbil, Horia Mihail  Petrescu.
