Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq holds four separate meetings with committees on several bills

Kurdistan Parliament Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq on 20 June 2022 supervised four separate meetings with committees to prepare several bills for the next stage of the legislative process.

Speaker Faiq and the Legislative Committee reviewed the voting report for the Legislative Proposal on Amendment to the Law on Welfare of Juveniles, Law No. 76 of 1983, prepared by the Committee on Social Affairs and Human Rights.

The second meeting was on the Legislative Proposal on implementation and amendment to the Law on the Seizure of Smuggled and Prohibited Goods Destined for Trade in the Domestic Market, amended Law No. 18 of 2008. Speaker Faiq and the Interior, Security and Local Councils Committee looked at MPs’ suggestions for strengthening the bill.

Speaker Faiq then met with the Education, Higher Education and Scientific Research Committee to work on the Bill on the Board of Accreditation of Education and Higher Education Institutions and Programs.

The final meeting was with the Legislative Committee to review the Bill on the Ministry of Municipalities and Tourism, which has recently had its second reading.
