Parliament's Chief of Diwan Mr. Ardalan Sarspi and Greece's Consul General Dr. Stavros Kyrimis discuss ongoing cooperation

The Chief of Diwan of the Kurdistan Parliament Mr. Ardalan Muhammad Sarspi on 9 May 2022 welcomed Greece’s Consul General Dr. Stavros Kyrimis and his delegation. Mr. Sarspi was with the Deputy Chief of the Diwan Mr. Hiwa Nusraddin and the Head of Parliament’s Research Centre Mr. Fuad Ahmed.

Mr. Sarspi and Consul General Kyrimis discussed the ongoing cooperation between the Kurdistan Parliament and the Greek Consulate General to share knowledge and expertise. Mr. Sarspi emphasized the importance of developing Parliament’s institutional and administrative capacity by learning from the Greek parliament’s experiences, as one of the oldest parliaments in the world.

Mr. Sarspi thanked Consul General Kyrimis for the close cooperation and asked him to help develop direct ties between the Kurdistan Parliament and the Parliament of Greece by establishing training courses for MPs, committees and staff.  

Greece’s Consulate General, in cooperation with Kurdistan Parliament’s Research Centre, has arranged seminars by Professor Vasileios Syros, professor of history and comparative political theory, on issues related to democracy.
