Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq welcomes Czech Republic’s new Consul General Mr. Karel Kortanek

Kurdistan Parliament Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq on 11 May 2022 welcomed Mr. Karel Kortanek, the Czech Republic’s new General Consul in Kurdistan Region.

Speaker Faiq congratulated Mr. Kortanek on his appointment and wished him success in his new role.

They discussed the current situation in Kurdistan Region, the latest political developments in Kurdistan and Iraq, and the challenges to holding the next Kurdistan Parliament election.

They agreed on the importance of strengthening the relationship between the Kurdistan Region and the Czech Republic in many areas.

Consul General Kortanek said that the Czech Republic’s relationship with Kurdistan Region is important, and hoped that Iraq can enjoy the same stability, peace and security as the Kurdistan Region.
