Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq welcomes delegation of Middle East civil law professors

Kurdistan Parliament Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq on 27 October 2022 met with a delegation of civil law professors from several Middle Eastern nations. 

Speaker Faiq welcomed Dr. Saadoun Ameri, former head of the special law department of Baghdad University; Dr. Ibrahim Desuqi Abu Lail, professor of civil law at Kuwait International Law College in Kuwait; Dr. Hussamadin Ahwani, professor of civil law at Ain Shams University in Egypt; Dr. Adnan Ibrahim Sarhan, a civil law professor at Shariqa University in the UAE; and Dr. Muhammad Suleiman Ahmadi, Head of the Law Research Centre of the KRG Ministry of Justice.

Speaker Faiq and the law professors discussed Kurdistan Parliament's legislation and in particular Parliament's current efforts to pass or amend laws that affect people’s daily lives.

Dr. Faiq and the delegation also talked about the KRG Justice Ministry's Law Research Centre’s efforts to prepare comprehensive notes on the Iraqi Civil Code, Law No. 40 of 1951.
