Parliament holds second reading of articles 35 to 37 of Bill on Education and Training, condemns IRGC's missile attacks on Kurdistan Region
The Kurdistan Parliament on 29 September 2022 held the second reading of articles 35 to 37 of the Bill on Education and Training, the provisions on the right to education in other languages, students with special needs, and e-learning. Deputy Speaker Dr. Hemin Hawrami on behalf of Parliament’s Presidency condemned the IRGC’s recent attacks on several areas of Kurdistan Region and expressed their condolences to the victims’ families.
Deputy Speaker Hawrami presided over the sitting, with Secretary Muna Kahveci alongside him.
On the IRGC’s missile and suicide drone attacks on Kurdistan Region, Dr. Hawrami called on the Iraqi federal government and the international community to put a stop to them and to the violations of Iraq’s and Kurdistan Region’s sovereignty.
Parliament’s Presidency also extended condolences to the families of the victims and wished for a speedy recovery to the injured.
A moment’s silence was held for the victims of the recent attacks, as well as for all the martyrs that lost their lives in the struggle for Kurdistan’s freedom and prosperity.
The KRG Education Minister Alan Hama Saeed and Dr. Seywan Ali from the ministry were present to give clarifications on the bill.
The education and legislative committees read articles 35 to 37, the provisions on the right to education in other languages in government (state) schools and education centres, on students with special needs, and on e-learning (learning through digital resources and electronic devices).
