Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq chairs meeting to finalize the Education Bill for its second reading

Kurdistan Parliament Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq on 5 September 2022 chaired a meeting to finalize the Education Committee’s report for the second reading of the Education Bill.

Speaker Faiq said, "The Education Bill is an important one, and I thank the committee for their efforts in preparing their report."

The Kurdistan Regional Government sent the Education Bill, a sweeping bill to overhaul all of the education and higher education sector, to Parliament which held its first reading on 30 November 2020. Since then, Parliament’s Education Committee has held numerous consultations with experts, stakeholders and the government to refine the draft legislation.

Speaker Faiq and the committee discussed in detail the articles and provisions of the bill for the final report, which will then be submitted to the Legislative Committee and Parliament’s Presidency for the necessary work.
