Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq meets with official law dictionary compilers

Kurdistan Parliament Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq on 3 April 2023 welcomed a committee that is compiling an official law dictionary for the Kurdistan Region.

Speaker Faiq and the committee discussed the need for an official law dictionary to define legal language and terminology for all the official and constitutional institutions in the Kurdistan Region.

Speaker Faiq said, “This project of preparing an official law dictionary will fulfill one of the most important scientific and academic needs of the Parliament, courts and legal institutions in the Kurdistan Region, and is a gap that has yet to be filled. That’s why we in the Kurdistan Parliament are very enthusiastic and give our full support to this project within the framework of its aims and duties.”

The Parliament Speaker appreciated the law dictionary committee’s hard work. She said she hopes that the lexicon will be made available as soon as possible to lawmakers and all KRG institutions, and that it will also be beneficial for universities and academia.

The committee members thanked Speaker Faiq for her support for the project.
