Interior, Security and Local Councils Committee visit UK Parliament

Kurdistan Parliament’s Interior, Security and Local Councils Committee on 21 February 2023 began their visit to the UK with a meeting with the KRG Representative to the UK Mr. Karwan Jamal Tahir, and a visit to the UK Parliament.

The committee’s delegation, led by the chair Shakhawan Rauf Beg (Change Movement), are in the UK to meet with British MPs, local councils and the Greater London Authority, to benefit from their experience and share knowledge.

On the first day of their visit the committee members accompanied by advisers were warmly welcomed by KRG Representative to the UK Mr. Karwan Jamal Tahir at the KRG Representation office.

This was followed by a visit to the UK Parliament where the Kurdistani MPs became acquainted with its working methods and procedures, and attended a sitting.

The committee will have several meetings with UK counterparts over the coming days.
