Secretary Muna Kahveci welcomes Turkey’s new Consul General Mr. Mehmet Mevlut Yakut

Kurdistan Parliament Secretary Muna Kahveci on 8 January 2023 welcomed Turkey’s new Consul General in Kurdistan Region, Mr. Mehmet Mevlut Yakut.

Secretary Kahveci wished Mr. Yakut success in his new posting. She gave an overview of the peaceful coexistence that exists between the different ethnic and religious communities in the Kurdistan Region, and how their rights are guaranteed by law.

They discussed the latest political, security and economic developments in the Kurdistan Region, Iraq and the wider region, and agreed on the importance of strengthening Kurdistan Region-Turkey ties in all areas.

Consul General Yakut commended Secretary Kahveci for representing Kurdistan’s ethnic and religious communities, fostering the culture of peaceful coexistence and promoting intercommunal harmony.
