Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq commends German Parliament for recognition of the Yazidi genocide

Today, 19 January 2023, the German Bundestag (lower house of the German Parliament) unanimously approved a motion to recognize the crimes committed by ISIS against the Yazidi Kurds as genocide.

On this day, on behalf of the people of Kurdistan of all religious and ethnic communities, the Kurdistan Parliament greatly appreciates the historic stance taken by the Bundestag. We commend the goodwill shown by all the parliamentary groups, and we thank the people and Government of Germany for being our allies and supporters in the war against ISIS and in defence of the Region from ISIS’s brutality.
