Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq welcomes Netherlands' new Consul General, Mr. Jaco Beerends

Kurdistan Parliament Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq on 24 January 2023 welcomed the Netherlands’ new Consul General in Kurdistan Region, Mr. Jaco Beerends.

Speaker Faiq congratulated Mr. Beerends on his new posting and wished him success in his duties.

Speaker Faiq gave an overview of the political situation and the issues surrounding the next Kurdistan Parliament election.

The Speaker also explained the laws that the current term of Parliament has passed to develop industry, agriculture and tourism, strengthen the economy, support local products, and diversify away from reliance on oil and natural resources.

Consul General Beerends and Speaker Faiq discussed strengthening bilateral ties and learning from the Netherlands’ agricultural and economic expertise.
