Deputy Speaker Dr. Hemin Hawrami welcomes Canadian Embassy's Political and Economic Counsellor Mr. Colin Lake

Kurdistan Parliament Deputy Speaker Dr. Hemin Hawrami on 6 March 2023 met with Mr. Colin Lake, Political and Economic Counsellor of the Canadian Embassy in Baghdad. 

They discussed the political and economic situation in Kurdistan Region, Iraq and the wider region, Erbil-Baghdad relations, and the next Kurdistan Parliament election.

Dr. Hawrami stressed the importance of the ongoing dialogue between Erbil and Baghdad to resolve the outstanding issues within the framework of Iraq's constitution.

The Deputy Speaker explained the legislative, political and technical steps that need to be taken to prepare for the next Kurdistan Parliament election.
